Built by people who lived the problem
Bossy didn't start in a boardroom. It started with two people on opposite sides of the same problem: running frontline teams that depended too much on one person being there.
The owner
One of us owns restaurants. For years she couldn't find a manager she fully trusted to run a shift the way she would, so she was there for all of it, open to close. When she went to expand, the cracks showed: the other locations didn't perform without her in the room. Growth nearly broke the business instead of building it.
The operator
The other has managed at every level (supervisor, manager, GM, senior manager) across startups, retail, and tech. The systems that made those teams succeed were mostly held together by spreadsheets and willpower: checklists in Excel, follow-ups from memory, 1-on-1s in a notebook. They worked. They just didn't scale, and they fell apart the moment they were handed off.
